So I completed my nutrition coaching course at the end of last year and I received the confirmation I had passed just before Christmas. It seems very strange to think I am now qualified to coach others in nutrition. Someone that a year a go was sobbing into the arms of my loved ones because I felt so horrible about myself and body image.
It helped me to understand food and develop a healthier relationship with food. I do not have this unhealthy attitude towards food anymore. It is actually now my therapy. Gone are the days where I reach for the comfort food in a moment of crisis. I now put on my gym clothes and trainers and run or exercise to release all that stress.
So what now?
Well I am qualified to give advice in many areas but my passion is with children and families. I guess this could be as I have worked with children for a decade and I want to continue this but instead of nursing preventing them from developing illnesses in the first place. Many of which can be contributed from a bad diet!!!
Right now I have no set plans. I want to continue blogging and building my knowledge and confidence with evidence. The course was a good foundation for starting this but to be a good coach I think you need to really live it and absorb as much information as you can.
I’d love to work in schools and clubs or maybe even hold my own events where families can come and learn about nutrition. I would also love to do a fitness instructor course so that I could incorporate some fitness ideas into it.
I am a strong believer in prevention is better than cure and with the nation eating as we are we need to feed the information to the young.
The world is m oyster and I am looking forward to exploring all the possibilities!
